Brandi J Long, MSN, RN, AGACNP-BC

Brandi Long grew up in Biloxi, MS. She joined the Army, earning a top secret security clearance and becoming part of the intelligence community as a Korean linguist.  After an honorable discharge, she used her GI Bill to obtain her nursing degree and in 2009 she moved to Charlottesville, where she began working at UVa Medical Center in the Medical ICU as a bedside nurse and charge nurse.  In 2011, Brandi went back to school at the University of Virginia for her Master's Degree in Nursing as a Nurse Practitioner and graduated in 2013. 

She worked as a clinical instructor for UVA School of Nursing for the undergraduate program and stayed on in the ICU as a bedside nurse for one more year before taking her first Nurse Practitioner job at UVa in the Neurology/Neurosurgical ICU.  Brandi has extensive experience and knowledge of neurological conditions, as well as post-spine surgical management and outcomes.

Other areas of expertise are adult acute care, general medicine, chronic illnesses, and acute pain management. Brandi’s is passionate about research and medical innovation, and will never back down from finding answers and solutions for even the most challenging cases.

Brandi lives just outside of Charlottesville with her 4 children and in her spare time, she enjoys spin classes, running, reading nonfiction and crocheting baby afghans (her grandmother taught her when she was only 10!)
