Mrs. Mullins is a native of Pound, Virginia. Growing up, Amber always knew she wanted to work in the medical field. She has always had a passion for taking care of others. Amber started nursing classes her Senior year of high school and obtained her licensed pracrical nurse license at the age of 19. She began working at a small local hospital, on the Pediatric Unit and Medical/Surgical Unit, while pursuing her Registered Nurse license.
In 2008, she graduated from the Virginia Appalachian Tri-college Nursing Program with her RN and started working at Holston Valley Medical Center from 2008-2016, on the Medical/Surgical/Peritoneal Dialysis Unit as a floor nurse and charge nurse.
In 2015, she obtained her bachelor’s degree from King University. In 2018, she obtained her master’s degree from Frontier Nursing University, while working full time at Pikeville Medical Center, from 2016-2018, on the Cardiac Unit, specializing in the care of patients having heart catheterizations, pacemaker insertions, cardiac ablations, heart valve replacements, and pre and post open-heart surgery.
After completing her master’s degree in 2018, Amber relocated to Culpeper Virginia, working for Wellspring Health Services, providing family practice and urgent care services. She also began specializing in women’s health services.
She currently lives outside of Charlottesville with her husband. In her spare time, Amber enjoys spending time with family and her pets.
